MYCOPLASMA DETECTION SERVICES
Example of mycoplasma detection experiment. Culture supernatant from a contaminated cell line was added directly to PCR reaction without any manipulations resulting in mycoplasma-specific ~270 bp band (Myco Pos, ND). The same supernatant was serially diluted (ND – non-diluted and 1:10, 1:100 and 1:1K-fold dilutions) and added to a series of PCR reactions in the presence of Internal Control. In the absence of mycoplasma contamination, Internal Control is amplified as ~400 bp band. Upon increasing concentrations of mycoplasma DNA, Internal Control band is amplified less efficiently and generation of mycoplasma-specific ~270 bp band takes place. Neg Ctrl – PCR reaction without Internal Control and mycoplasma contamination. Nsp band – a ~140 bp fragment amplified in the presence of Internal Control.
